The club showed resilience by winning the Kazakhstan First Division in the 2000 season, earning promotion back to the Kazakhstan Premier League.
The club entered a golden period in the 2000s, achieving remarkable domestic success. Recent managerial changes have shaped the club's direction, with Ioan Andone being appointed as manager on 20 July 2015. After finishing third in the league, Andone left the club on 10 November 2015 when his contract wasn't extended. Yuri Utkulbayev was announced as the new manager on 22 December 2015, followed by Ihor Rakhayev who replaced Utkulbayev prior to the start of the 2017 season.
