In the current period, Borussia Dortmund continues to build on their success in the Regionalliga while making their mark in cup competitions. Their DFB-Pokal journey began with a 3-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach from the 2.Bundesliga on 19 August 2025. However, their cup run ended when they faced FC Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champions and DFB-Pokal winners, losing 0-2 at Stadion Rote Erde on 29 September 2026.
