Egnatia Rrogozhinë
KF Egnatia Rrogozhinë is an Albanian professional football club founded on 15 September 1934, based in Rrogozhinë, Albania. The club competes in the Kategoria Superiore, the top tier of Albanian football, and plays their home matches at the Egnatia Arena, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. Originally founded as 22 Shtatori Rrogozhinë, the club underwent several name changes before becoming KF Egnatia in 1998. Their most notable achievement came in 2024 when they secured their first championship title in the Kategoria Superiore.

KF Egnatia Rrogozhinë, commonly referred to as Egnatia, is an Albanian professional football club that has established itself as a competitive force in Albanian football. The club was originally founded under the name 22 Shtatori Rrogozhinë in 1934, later becoming Vullneti Rrogozhinë in 1991, before adopting its current name in 1998.
Most recent season and achievements
The club achieved a historic milestone on 26 May 2024 when Egnatia won their first title of the Kategoria Superiore after beating Partizani in the final. This marked the culmination of years of development and represented the club's greatest achievement to date.
History
Early years
The passion for football was integrated into the hearts of local citizens and patriots since the early years of World War I. Rrogozhinë, being neighbors to Kavajë, a city with a long tradition in football on a national level, used this experience to form initially an amateur level team. The very first match in club history was a friendly against Besa in 1934 which ended in a devastating 1–7 loss. Mustafa Cara, a student of agronomy in Bari, Italy who had returned home for vacation and was a player for Fidelis Andria at the time, scored 5 goals for Besa in that match.
Crisis and recovery
Following the liberation of the country after World War II, the league structure changed by allowing only district level teams to compete in the top two divisions. This made it difficult for Rrogozhinë, a locality at the time, to compete on a national level. Egnatia had one season in the top tier of Albanian football after winning promotion in summer 2004, but were relegated on the first attempt, with Alfred Ferko succeeding Hysen Dedja and Petrit Haxhia as first team coach during the season.
Current period
Egnatia were promoted back to the top flight of Albanian football for the second time in their history on 2 May 2021, following a 1–0 victory over local rivals Besa Kavajë in the Promotion Round of the 2020–21 Kategoria e Parë. Under head coach Gugash Magani, they finished top of Group B during the regular season and qualified for the Promotion Round. They secured their place in the championship final held on 21 May 2021 against Dinamo Tirana, where they won 1–0 through a stoppage-time winner from Ndriçim Shtubina.

In European competitions, Egnatia has recorded several notable results. Their biggest ever European home victory was a 2–1 win against Borac Banja Luka on July 17, 2024, while their biggest European away victory was a 2–0 win against Dinamo Minsk on July 24, 2025. Fernando Medeiros holds the record for most European appearances with 12, while Raphael Dwamena and Regi Lushkja share the record for most European goals with 3 each.
Club Traditions and Behind the Scenes
Stadium
The club has played at the existing site of Egnatia Arena since the team's foundation, with the original capacity around 1,200 and one small main stand located to the south. The stadium was originally named Rrogozhina Stadium and was also later known as the Egnatia Stadium as well as the Hasan Zyla Stadium. The club broke ground on the newly named Arena Egnatia on the existing site on 17 February 2021. In May 2024, it was announced that the club had started working on building a new stand opposite the main Demrozi Stadium stand, to be named posthumously after former player Raphael Dwamena who died playing for the club the previous season. The club was also looking to secure land near Rrogozhinë to build a new training complex.
