Long An Football Club is a professional football club based in Tân An ward, Tây Ninh, Vietnam, that competes in the V.League 2. The club was founded in 2001 as a professional team, with its current name adopted on December 12, 2015, replacing the previous name Đồng Tâm Long An. The team plays at Long An Stadium, which holds 20,000 people. Throughout its history, the club has achieved significant success, winning the V.League 1 twice in 2005 and 2006, along with the Vietnamese National Cup in 2005 and the Vietnamese Super Cup in 2006, establishing itself as one of the "big four" clubs in Vietnamese football.
Long An Football Club originated from the merger of two football teams: Team Long An and Đồng Tâm Tiles young team. The club operates from Long An Stadium, a multi-purpose venue in Tân An, Vietnam, that accommodates 20,000 spectators and serves primarily for football matches.
The club currently competes in the V.League 2, having adopted the name Long An on December 12, 2015. The team has maintained its presence in Vietnamese professional football while continuing to develop its football programs and infrastructure.
From the mid-1990s, Đồng Tâm focused on sports activities for company staff, particularly football. The young football team movement Gach Đồng Tâm was established in 1996 and developed alongside the company's general business activities. In 2000, responding to the state's call for sports socialization in Vietnam and with support from the Long An Province People's Committee, the company collaborated with the Provincial Sport Department to take over the Long An football team that was competing in the Championship.
In 2001, the team transitioned to a professional model under Đồng Tâm Joint Stock Company management, later managed by Đồng Tâm Co. Sports Management from 2002. The club was renamed Đồng Tâm Long An Tiles. Under the leadership of Vo Quoc Thang, Chairman of Đồng Tâm Joint Stock Company, significant investment led to outstanding progress, establishing the club as one of the "big four" in the V-League alongside Becamex Bình Dương, SHB Đà Nẵng, and Hoàng Anh Gia Lai. The club achieved remarkable success, winning the V.League 1 in 2005 and 2006, along with the Vietnamese National Cup in 2005 and Vietnamese Super Cup in 2006.
The club built a reserve squad named Tile Dong Tam Long An for the Second Division. In late 2005, they acquired Bank of East Asia's football team to create a second team called Son Dong Tam Long An for the 2006 National Football League. However, at the end of the 2006 season, Son Dong Tam Long An was transferred to Royal Sports Development limited liability company to form the core of Cement Vinakansai Ninh Binh football club.
From the 2007 season, the team changed its name to Đồng Tâm Long An, removing "tiles" from the name. The club continued its professional operations and in 2015 adopted its current name, Long An Football Club, while maintaining its competitive presence in Vietnamese football.
